Friday, May 8, 2009 - ASL Comedy Tour: Evening with Keith Wann Come and enjoy a night of storytelling and CODA-DEAF Culture. Laugh with Keith as he takes you on a hilarious "visual" journey to describe his childhood experiences. Come learn about the Deaf and Hearing Worlds and how they often clash with the help of a mischievous child of deaf adult. Born hearing to Deaf parents (CODA), Keith grew up living in both the hearing and Deaf worlds, and has been able to create unique perspectives on the ways of both worlds. Saturday, May 9, 2009-Peter Cook: Storytelling and Poetry  Peter Cook is an internationally reputed Deaf performing artist whose works incorporate American Sign Language, pantomime, storytelling, acting, and movement.  Come join us for an exciting performance and interactive workshop on ASL storytelling and poetry!

 

Saturday, May 30, 2009 - End-of-Year Celebration for Families at Alliance for Families with Deaf Children Family Literacy Academy,  11am to 3pm, Seminole Park, 6600 SW 16th Street,  Plantation.  The Alliance for Families with Deaf Children will enjoy a festive year-end party to close out this academic year. They’ll enjoy refreshments, a BBQ, face painting, storytelling, crafts, and fun activities and receive a care package from sponsors including Pearson which has donated books for each of the families.
